Creating Calendars, Albums and Cards with Photoshop Elements

Course Level: Beginner Digital
With the holiday season approaching, find new ways to share your photos. Use Photoshop Elements to turn your photos into greeting cards, albums, calendars and more. Bring a previously selected photo or photos to work on in class. You will use Photoshop Elements to make your image pop, add text if desired and resize it to fit various card and album layouts. Explore different paper and printing options for your creations.

No prior Photoshop experience is needed but you should be comfortable using your computer.

This is a hands-on class and participants should bring their own PC laptop loaded with Photoshop Elements Version 4 or later. While a limited number of laptops are available for rent from Zeff, students will be required to provide their own software and arrive one-half hour early to temporarily install their software on rental machine.

Please Note: This class is for PC users only and there will be a one-hour lunch break midday.

Digital 102 Workshop

You've taken Digital 101 and are becoming familiar with using your digital camera, now what? In this course you will learn how to transfer images from your camera or card to your computer. Try different methods of viewing your photos and access hidden information stored with your images. Find out how to make a CD or DVD, email or share your photos online and get good digital prints. How to Wow with Photoshop Elements

How to Wow with Photoshop Elements

Turn your good photos into great photos, make your colors pop and fix problem areas. Learn to use adjustment layers and color correction techniques in Photoshop Elements. Create classic photographic effects like motion blur and selective focus. Use selection tools and layers to independently adjust sections of your image. Participants should have a basic working knowledge of Photoshop Elements, including the ability to import, crop and resize, use basic selection tools and save an edited image. Instruction will be viewed on a PC running Adobe Photoshop Elements version 6. A laptop loaded with Photoshop Elements 6 is recommended for optimal learning (users with previous versions will be able to follow most lessons but the screen may look significantly different). While a limited number of laptops are available for rent from Zeff, students will be required to provide their own software and arrive a half hour early to temporarily install their software.

Marketing for the Fine Art Photographer

Clarify your art photography goals & explore topics such as exposure, exhibiting, venues, sales, grants, and artist residencies. Prepare a professional presentation "package" including images, resume, an artist statement and bio. Traditional and electronic methods for broader exposure and portfolio review will be discussed. Learn how to price your work and how to locate the various venues available.

Photoshop Elements (Introductory)

Instructor: Carol Padden
Course Level: Beginner
Edit and organize your photos using Adobe Photoshop Elements. This program features most of the tools of Adobe Photoshop at a fraction of the cost, a great tool for any photographer. You will get hands-on practice improving and fixing common photographic problems like exposure, color balance, contrast and red eye. We will cover what type/size files you should be shooting or scanning and the best ways to open, save and organize these files in Photoshop Elements. You will correct the exposure and contrast, remove distracting items in your photographs, crop, sharpen and more. Skills covered in this class are transferable to other image editing programs, including the full version of Photoshop. Time permitting we may cover techniques for retouching and removing unwanted items.

Basic computer skills are required. This is a hands-on class and you should bring a laptop PC to class with Photoshop Elements Version 6 software loaded. You may use an earlier version but the screen will look significantly different. While a limited number of laptops are available for rent from Zeff Photo, students will be required to install their own required software for the duration of the class. A trial version may be downloaded from Adobe .com. There will be a one hour lunch break for this all day class.
