FinePix Releases F100fd Firmware Update Ver.1.02
FinePix has released a firmware update (v1.02) for the FinePix F100fd which reduces the "pinkish-colored band" which may sometimes be found in the left side edge of an image when the image is shot at ISO 400 or shot without flash on "NATURAL & FLASH MODE".

Nik Software Ships Viveza Plug-in for Aperture
Nik Software today released the Viveza plug-in for Aperture 2.1, Apple's groundbreaking photo editing and management software. The Viveza plug-in allows Aperture users to selectively control light and color in photographic images without ever having to leave Aperture. Photographers simply place U Point powered Control Points directly on colors or objects such as sky, skin or grass to make targeted adjustments to an image within Aperture. Viveza is now available for electronic delivery directly from Nik Software at www.niksoftware.com. Boxed versions will be available from Nik Software and through specialty camera retailers throughout North America and the world by June 1, 2008. MSRP is $249.95.

Microsoft Releases Free GeoTagging Software and Releases Expression Media v2.0
Microsoft Corp. today introduced two new products to help photographers manage their digital photos in a new way using location data, a process known as geotagging. Geotagging is an exciting new way to organize your digital photos that was previously available only to those with technical expertise. Microsoft Pro Photo Tools make geotagging available for all photographers and can be downloaded for free at the Microsoft Pro Photo Web site and Expression Media 2, a new version of its digital asset management software, which is part of the Expression family of products for creative professionals. Expression Media 2 is designed to help reduce the amount of time required by photographers to manage and organize large collections of photos and other digital media, and it includes geotagging functionality.
